We were asked to renovate Tonny Pepe’s hairdressing salon at Kifissia, in a minimalist, modern style.
With the owner’s agreement, we decided to have a gray colored background so that we could give emphasis in the joy of different textures and materials in order for the space to gain volume.
Specifically, on one hand we used pressed cement mortar on the floor and one of the two large walls that runs along the single-room building, and on the other hand, we designed wooden details that would make this space more welcoming and warm.
In further detail, the wood finishing on the waiting bench “climbs” onto the reception desk to create a joyful play of volumes and levels that give a pleasant touch during the time one stays there, while the side tables for the men’s and women’s sections have been designed and constructed from solid, rustic wood that adds an extra touch of authenticity.
Finally, the special hidden lighting behind the mirrors defines the space and highlights the boundaries of a personal, luxurious treatment area.
